Kyoto pt.2

On my 2nd day in Kyoto i went to Fushimi Inari Shrine which is really unique and worth your attention!

It is famous for its tori gates and kitsune (fox) statues. The fox is considered a messenger to the gods.

This place has an awesome ancient and somewhat eerie atmosphere!!!For any Japan traveller, this is a great place to visit!

The stairs to the entrance...

Big kitsune statues everywhere!

the pathway with the tori….

...you can write your wishes on a wooden plate and draw a face for the fox! That was fun!

a little statue i found in the forest

if you go i strongly suggest you follow the trail up the mountain ….its  quite far but totally worth it!

...there are lots of stairs and it quite steep….

...countless tori on the way ...

a beautiful view will reward you!

and more kitsune of course...

many more in all shapes and sizes!

to be continued…
